Berlin

Thats my dark blue converse on the left

The place where the wall was has been marked in different colored stone. In some places it's now a bike path :)
And the sign at Checkpoint Charley. We went through a museum about it. Very interesting. All the stuff that happend, what people did to cross, amazing stories.

Ok. Not about Berlin.
You know people really wear wooden shoes here? I didn't think they would. It's not like kids wear them to school, but I do see people around town in them. It's probably because I'm in a rural area.
And something else that's true; The basic meal is: Potatoes (boiled), meat, vegitables (not normal fresh veggies, it's stuff like green beens, brussel sprouts, red cabbage, coliflower, etc) . That is what you eat probably around 85% of the time.
The foods not bad, just different.

I recognize the dark blue converse. What a great shot. When Dad saw the years, he commented that he graduated from high school in 1961. The cold war between the US and the USSR had been going on for years before that. Basically since the end of WWII. You did so much and saw so much in one long weekend! I'm glad that you took such fun, interesting photos.

Food notes:

We ate potatoes, cabbage and onions in your honor tonight. Yum

Another use for Craisins: I put them in the turkey salad sandwich filling for Robin's lunchoeon.
