Good News!

I bought a new watch! Its lovely isnt it? I dont think it can ever replace its predecessor but it does hold its own. Probably time for something more mature and grown up anyway.
Awhile ago I posted on a trip I went on to a clog makers and museum and how we painted our own clogs. But I dont think I ever put a picture up of mine. Here it is.

In other news, Its practicly June and that means summer! Almost. Sadly the teperature has been hovering around 60°. Though I have hope for the future. Maybe 65, 70 even.
I am glad about experiencing a cooler climat. Now I can say Ive lived with snow, not just driven to it. And wearing a cardigen in the summer isnt really the worst thing in the world either. Who knows, when its 100° this August I may just miss it.

"The Mourning Woman". At her feet are the words, "New life from wars destruction proclaims mans immortality and hope for peace."

This is the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial in the province of Limburg. There are 8,301 headstones and the names of 1,722 missing in actions. It was dedicated July 7th, 1960.

Luxemburg

Enjoy the views of Luxemburg, the capital of Luxenburg.

The current Grand Duke, Henri, bears the full style "His Royal Highness by the Grace of God, Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Duke of Nassau, Count Palatine of the Rhine, Count of Sayn, Königstein, Katzenelnbogen and Diez, Burgrave of Hammerstein, Lord of Mahlberg, Wiesbaden, Idstein, Merenberg, Limburg and Eppstein." -Thank you Wikipedia
I still dont fully understand how they can have a duke instead of a king or queen. Whats the point? (Then again, I dont understand having a king or queen either.)

This is a picture of what the little house we stayed in looks like. The senery was beautiful, it was on a river (I forget the name but Ill tell you later) with lots of trees and hills.
And dont worry! I think Ill be able to get all the pictures up within a day or two.

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mothers Day to everyone.

Everyday is mothers day but its nice haveing a date on the calander to show it.

Love you, Elise

And Then Theres Days like This.

So Thursday was wonderful. Practicly perfect.
I went to Amsterdam (which is a little over two hours by train for me!) with Mette, another forigne exchange student from Finland. Shes really nice and entertained me for the whole train ride. Actually on the way back we were in the "Silent" car of the train, which I didnt relize, and so I was rather loud laughing at these stories she was telling. There were these guys who kept making shooshing noises. I just thought they had a tick or something.
but Im getting ahead of my self. We went to the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum. They were fantastic. We also shopped, saw a street performer, and had hot cocoa. The highlight for me was finding an American and English food store. I bought Reeses Peanutbutter Cups and Aunt Jamimas Pancake and Waffel mix.

Just The Normal Stuff

Because most days are just normal. Like yesterday, I went shopping with friends. We had ice cream amd McDonalds and made some pretty good purchases.

Cute floral skirt.

"We´ve got competition" says the stroopwaffel (waffel cookie filled with caramel) about the pindakoek (peanut cookie). This is my prize. Absolutely.

Another beauty. Just pure sweetness.

Today I stayed home and relaxed, I have a cold. Did the things that should be done, like cleaning my room and watching The Notebook. God put Nicholas Sparks on the earth to write that book. Obviously I cried.

I made this cake Monday. It was a box mix, arent the hearts cute?
